What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Works Laborer position at City of Escanaba?
The City of Escanaba is seeking one qualified applicant for the full-time position of Laborer in the Public Works Department.
Responsibilites include, but are not limited to:
- Collecting refuse and recyclables.
- Plowing snow from streets, parking lots, and bike paths.
- Performing tree and ground maintenance, including planting, mowing, landscaping, trimming, leaf and debris removal, watering, fertilizing, digging, snow shoveling.
- Painting, cleaning, and maintaining City property.
- Constructing streets and curbs. Performing manual labor for City construction projects.
- Completing other assigned projects.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a valid State of Michigan driver’s license with CDL endorsement, strong mechanical aptitude, experience operating equipment and tools.
The starting pay is $19.96 per hour and includes a competitive benefits package.
