The Department of Public Works (DPW) Maintenance Tech II - Support Services position is an integral part of a team that helps make the City of Fishers a vibrant and growing community. You too can make a difference in many areas of the community by working with other dedicated professionals. Our goal as the City's Facility Maintenance Team is to provide a reliable, skilled service that is able to maintain and repair over 700,000 sq. ft. of buildings and structures including the Police Station, Fire Stations, City Hall, Recreation Buildings, and public meeting spaces just to name a few. As part of the Department of Public Works Team this position also serves a key role in special community events.
- Maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance of all systems.
- Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in all facilities.
- Maintaining the efficiency and good working conditions of the facilities.
- Meeting room set-up or moving furniture.
- Outside seasonal work such as painting and snow removal, etc.
- Maintains and reports issues on equipment such as water softeners, unit heaters, water heaters, condensate and circulating pumps, and streetlights,
- Assists in maintaining facility water treatment systems, cooling towers, air handlers, disassemble and reassemble system components, furniture, and similar.
- Monitor facility fire extinguishing systems, other mechanical systems, and fire suppression sprinklers.
- Installs new/replacement equipment and materials in facilities, light heating, ventilating, air conditioning and other maintenance work.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Some mechanical experience;
- 2-3 years Mechanic level experience preferred or related field;
- Training for the relevant trade preferred;
- Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.;
- Ability to communicate and follow up effectively both orally and in writing;
- Ability to obtain Class A CDL driver's license within one year of hire date;
- Ability to work 2nd shift;
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours when necessary for meetings, training, events, or emergency/on-call assignments including snow removal.
Salary : $25
