Job Summary
The City of Fort Collins Fleet team is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Worker II to support technicians in keeping our vehicles in good condition so that they are safe, and reliable.
Fleet Maintenance Worker II is equivalent to an entry level Auto Maintenance Technician. This position will work at the 835 Wood Street Facility with a team of technicians and staff in an up-to-date, well-equipped shop.
Our fleet includes a wide variety of fleet vehicles that run in all kinds of weather and conditions. The work will include servicing and repairing of all types of fleet vehicles and equipment, and building shop maintenance.
Work hours are Monday - Friday from 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM. Uniforms, safety shoes, and safety equipment are provided. CDL, relevant technical training, and licensing are provided if needed.
ASE certification is encouraged. Please see below for the required licenses and certifications.
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing their own basic set of hand tools. The shop will provide large wrench and socket sets and any special tools or test equipment that may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
- Operates snow removal equipment to maintain streets, sidewalks, and driveways at City shops.
- Performs custodial duties such as cleaning building, sweeping, scrubbing floors and emptying trash.
- Delivery and pick up of buses, vans, and support vehicles between locations.
- Inspects vehicles and performs maintenance and minor repairs such as changing tires, replacing brakes and hoses, and checking fluid levels.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on shop equipment such as bus wash facility, vehicle hoists, air compressor, and fuel island and propane station
- Operates fueling truck to provide on-site equipment fueling.

Required Qualifications
MinimumPreferredHigh School Diploma or GED
Experience Requirements
1-2 years related experience in building, vehicle, and equipment maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
