GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision performs clerical and accounting duties assisting with the City's Cash Receipts, Accounts Payable and other functions as necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Receives monies for deposit from Utility Billing Manager after daily close-out of cash drawer; verifies deposit for accuracy.
2. Sets up new vendors in accounting system making sure W-9 form is completed and on file for 1099 vendors.
3. Responsible for assembling, distributing and mailing of all accounts payable checks. Filing backup and maintaining vendor files for audit purposes.
4. Verifies all travel requests submitted, ensuring that all paperwork is included and accurate prior to submitting for processing.
5. Responsible for ordering miscellaneous supplies for City Hall.
6. Provide backup support for the Finance Manager in their absence.
7. Assists Finance Director during the audit process and as needed.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Knowledge of the City's purchasing policies and procedures and State of Florida Uniform chart accounts system.
Knowledge of computers and relevant software.
Knowledge and experience in preparing and working with spreadsheets.
Ability to make arithmetic computations quickly and accurately.
Skill in operating business machines such as calculator, computer terminal, and copier.
Ability to maintain complex records and assemble and organize data.
Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and the public over the telephone and in person.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalency required.
At least three (3) years' experience in bookkeeping or accounts maintenance, including the operation of a computer.

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations:
Valid Florida Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Abillity to access, input and retrieve information from a computer.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
