Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the project labor team through training, coaching, and mentoring and ensure regular feedback is shared with team
- Coordinate task schedule and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances
- Collaborate with subcontractors to maintain a clean and organized working environment
· Plans, organizes, coordinates, supervises and evaluates programs, plans, services, staffing, equipment and infrastructure of the public works and water and wastewater departments.
· Oversees the maintenance wastewater, public works, meter and other records.
· Assists in the training of City personnel in public works and utilities systems and techniques
· Responds to public or other inquiries relative to department policies and procedures.
· Evaluates issues and options regarding municipal public works and makes recommendations.
· Adherence to the work site safety program; identify and report any unsafe behavior on the site or hazardous conditions
· Maintain all inventory for repairs and fitting materials
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 5 years of civil construction experience.
- Proficiency with software, including MS Office Suite.
- Experience in the installation of utility work, including but not limited to storm drainage, sewer, and water mains.
- Experience in earth-moving activities. including but not limited to sub-base installation, class II base course, large scale embankment, and excavation.
