Athletic Field Technician
Responsible for maintaining City parks and related facilities; and to perform a variety of technical tasks related to the maintenance of all athletic facilities and sports seasons. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures. Perform the work for preparing a safe athletic facility (field maintenance). Drive to and from destinations as assigned by Supervisor. Perform a visual inspection of athletic fields for hazardous conditions. Perform a variety of facilities maintenance duties including the preparation of baseball fields, soccer fields, football fields, sand volleyball courts, and basketball courts including but not limited to re-sodding and leveling the base paths on the baseball diamond, dragging and marking of bases, cutting of lines, and clearing debris from the parking lots. Must be able to safely operate a variety of tools and equipment including power tools, lawn mowers, trucks, and tractors; perform general maintenance duties including refueling, lubricating parts, and changing the oil in assigned equipment; make minor adjustments as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Requires a valid Texas driver’s license and TDA licensed applicator certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months. Ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Two years of athletic field maintenance experience or four years of parks and recreation maintenance operation experience is preferred.
Pay Rate: DOQ SIGN ON BONUS $1000.00 (split)
Hours: Full-Time Position. 40 hours per week
