GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The purpose of the position is to provide assistance to the Dockkeeper in operational maintenance of boat docking facilities of the City's marina. Position provides security and routine maintenance to the docking areas, boats, and adjacent facilities. Incumbents operate the sales office, and perform various record maintenance duties related to such. Performs related work as directed.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATEMENT
Every City employee has emergency response responsibilities, though not every position will require routine assignments during an emergency event. All employees may be subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official job description. Assignments in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature, with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically and operationally challenging conditions.
- Provides support to the Dockkeeper in routine operational maintenance for the City marina's municipal docking facilities.
- Provides overall assistance to the general public, both in person and by phone, such as information on water and weather conditions, marina/docking rules and regulations, and safe boating practices.
- Assists with the marina sales office; arranging and scheduling reservations.
- Performs routine cleaning and/or maintenance of assigned facilities, fuel tanks, and equipment.
- Assists with the inspection of boats, docks, and adjacent facilities or orderliness, adherence to safety practices and regulations, and to prevent accident or injury to personnel and patrons.
- Operates a personal computer to schedule reservations on Molo Marina Management Software, utilizes Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
- Ensures all administrative work performed is properly recorded, filed, and processed according to department policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by up to one (1) year previous experience and/or training in marina operations or demonstrated experience in safe boating practices; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Knowledge of:
- Operations, procedures and services of a marina operation.
- Boats, boating equipment, and boating and marina terminology and operations.
- Techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used to perform general maintenance and repair of docks and associated equipment.
- Operation and maintenance of a variety of hand and power tools, radios/telephones, and equipment common to the field.
- Basic water safety skills.
- Pertinent federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations, including those related to water safety and environmental protection
