Calling all Fitness Enthusiasts! We are looking for an individual to teach lifting and agility to youth in our state of the art Rec Center! Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday for three hours each day with possible extra days to add.
Must enjoy working with people, have group fitness certification and/or degree in Exercise Science or related field, along with teaching experience. Pay $15.21-$17.97 per hour. Under the general direction of the Program Supervisor or Aquatics/Fitness Coordinator , plans, leads, and monitors fitness programs and classes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Prefer the completion of four years of classes in an accredited college in health, exercise, or human performance or current certification in a nationally accredited fitness program (NETA, ACE), or recent experience instructing fitness programs and classes; American Red Cross First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
This work requires the occasional exertion of over 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting; work requires close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to wet humid conditions (non-weather) and occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to extreme heat (non-weather) and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic).
