The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education to the community with a focus on mental illness, substance use addiction, and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Norfolk CSB provides services to persons in acute crisis as well as integrated, person-centered, and recovery-oriented programming for persons needing assistance and support stabilizing in the community.
Today, the CSB provides treatment and rehabilitation services to over 6,000 Norfolk citizens yearly. The City of Norfolk is searching for a Reimbursement Technician who will perform entry-level professional work related to claiming and billing fees for services in a behavioral healthcare environment with multiple funding sources and service components.
Departmental Hiring Salary Range: $39,575 - $45,511
Essential Functions of the job:- Check customer's eligibility for insurance monthly.
- Complete registration forms for those that have insurance.
- Research and reconcile MCO denials to increase department revenue.
- Enter customer's payors into their medical record.
- Complete financial assessments on every customer annually
- Enter registration approvals into the customer's medical record.
- Provide quality customer service to insurance providers and internal customers in a professional manner.
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through a combination of training and experience, beyond completion of high school or equivalency, which would provide the above knowledge, abilities, and skills.
Two years of experience in an administrative capacity with one year of related work experience in medical billing and/or insurance reimbursement required.
Valid driver's license required.
This position is eligible for a one-time $5,000 signing bonus.
