Definition:
Under supervision, oversees the management operations of the pro shop along with organizing programs for children and visitors.
Essential Responsibilities: oversee the scheduling and payroll of 3-4 employees who collect fees from golfers and issues receipts for play and merchandise/equipment (you will be required to work personal shifts as well); may have some financial responsibilities; takes inventory of golf supplies and notify the Recreation Supervisor when items need to be reordered; keeps the pro shop area in a clean and orderly condition; organizes and teaches golf camp (2 weeks per season), 1 golf tournament per month, and 1 clinic each week from Memorial Day to Labor Day; May be asked to teach private or semi-private lessons to all ages.
Requirements:
Knowledge of the game of golf and the rules and procedures used on the golf course.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position. The ability to carry out oral and written instructions; works harmoniously with patrons; see that the course and equipment are not being misused or damaged. Prepares and maintains necessary records, files and financials.
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Physical Demands:
Must be able to continuously stand and talk, kneel and crouch, reach with hands and arms; must be able to lift 20lbs.
Work Environment:
Position requires employee to frequently work in outdoor weather conditions such as heat/sun and cool/rain. May be exposed to fumes, particles, insects and the smell of fresh cut grass.
Pay:
$15 to $25 per hour (commensurate with experience)
