As an Accounting Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in performing exceptional customer service, administrative and general accounting tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes for the City of Raymore.
Essential Functions:
- This position is a customer facing position and usually the first point of contact for citizens walking into city hall.
- Process accounts receivable documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional service regarding City services, activities, and procedures.
- Coordinate resolution of past due accounts and assist customers with payment arrangements.
- Perform general administrative tasks including data entry, phone communication, and document processing.
- Prepare various forms, financial reports, and correspondence to support accounting functions.
- Take on other related duties as required to support departmental needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in accounting and customer service. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license.
Performance Aptitudes:
- Utilize data effectively to analyze information and make informed decisions.
- Provide guidance and assistance to others regarding procedures and standards.
- Operate office equipment and tools necessary for performing essential functions. Demonstrate strong verbal and mathematical aptitude for effective communication and problem-solving.
