Hiring Range: $15.45 - $18.54 Hourly
Summary: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing assistance and support in the coordination and supervision of recreation programs and the operations of the community center. Participant in programs may include seniors, youth, and adults. The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbent(s) in this position. Incumbent(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description, and/or may not be required to perform all duties in this description and incumbent(s)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Monitors the community center front desk by checking in patrons, accepting and processing membership applications, checking out equipment, and answering phones.
Provides information regarding recreation facilities, programs, events, services, facility rentals and memberships.
Registers patrons for recreation programs and memberships and verifies membership status.
Processes payments for programs, memberships, room rentals, and point of sale items by receiving cash, checks, and credit cards.
Assists in monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Assists in organization and scheduling of programs and events.
Prepares rooms for programs, activities, meetings, events, and rentals.
Participates in cleaning equipment and facilities.
Assists with other duties relation to city leisure service activities including but not limited to assisting with coverage at the Senior Center and city sponsored events.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of recreation programming principles and practices.
Knowledge of computers and related equipment, hardware and software.
Skill in assisting with community-based programs for all ages.
Skill in providing exceptional customer service.
Skill in effective oral and written communication.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent, and six months to (1) year of recreation programming experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Adult and infant CPR and First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within twelve months of hire date.
LICENCE, CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Texas Driver License Class C or ability to obtain within 90 days of relocation to Texas if currently possess a valid unexpired out of state driver license.

Physical
This is light work requiring the exertion of 0 – 20 pounds of force occasionally and 0 – 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition objects. Ability to traverse about an ADA accessible office setting, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to remain stationary at a keyboard for extended periods of time and continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer. Ability to manipulate objects and demonstrate small, precise movements repetitively.
Environmental
Tasks are regularly performed in an office setting without frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions, but limited exposure to outside elements due to programming may be required.
Sensory
Tasks require the manipulation of objects and demonstration of small, precise movements, the ability to detect and distinguish various features of one’s surroundings, and the ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with others.
