Key Responsibilities:
- Support Recruitment & Selection: Assist departments in finding the best talent for both exempt and non-exempt positions.
- Employee Benefits Administration: Help administer life, health, dental, disability, and vision benefits, including managing annual open enrollment.
- Performance Management: Ensure our performance review program is fair, effective, and in line with organizational goals.
- Onboarding & Orientation: Welcome new employees and ensure they have all the tools they need to succeed from day one.
- Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in municipal government.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong knowledge of HR-related laws, including FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish (preferred).
- A high school diploma or GED, with certifications in HR (PHR, SPHR, IPMA-HR) being a plus.
Work Environment:
This is a non-exempt position, with work typically performed indoors in an office setting. While the job is generally sedentary, some light physical activity, such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds, may occasionally be required.
