Patrol Officer, Airport Security Police work examples: (Duties are outlines in Federal Aviation regulations, in the Airport Operations Manual and the Airport Master Security Plan. Wears prescribed uniform, carries prescribed weapon and is authorized to make arrest). Summary : Maintains order and working with and/or through the Shreveport Police Department, assures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. May be required to drive public and airport employees. Drives security vehicle. May be required to operate central radio system. Patrols assigned areas; responds to emergencies; conducts security checks; inspects runways, taxiways, etc. Maintains log, completes required reports. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Physical Requirements: These physical requirements are not exhaustive. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and smell. The employee must frequently lift and.or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and.or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision. peripheral vision and depth perception. Corrective lenses may be used to meet these requirements.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Shift work - days, swing, graveyard rotating shifts, work on holidays, varying days off. Work is mainly outdoors, hazardous and potential risk involved.
