General Description
Responsible for coordinating the planning, evaluation of special projects, programs and services offered by the Police Athletic/Activities League, while working under the general direction of the designated Police Department Administrator.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Provides coordination, administration, and direction for the Police Athletic/Activities League programs to include implementing official directives from the Police Department Administrator
- Develops programs that encourage and support the development of our youth's physical and mental wellbeing. Plans, coordinates, and implements athletic activities and other events.
- Serves as the ambassador for the Police Athletic/Activities League in City of South Fulton communities.
- Organizes program purchases, maintains inventories and records of PAL equipment and supplies.
- Coordinates recruiting, training, and background screening for PAL volunteers.
- Responsible for managing program development and promotion, sponsorship, budgeting and grant writing.
- Assists the Police Department Administrator in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization while serving as the PAL Coordinator.
- Maintains accurate and timely records for all PAL activities, events and programs

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in, business or public administration, sports administration or a related field; and five (5) years’ experience in program management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
