The City of Topeka is seeking a hard-working individual to serve as a Blight Abatement Worker in the Street division of the Public Works department. This position consists of semi-skilled work and is responsible for maintaining grassy areas in roadways and easements as well as trash and furniture pick up and disposal. The incumbent will operate a variety of City of Topeka vehicles as well as lawn mowers and other equipment in accordance with safety guidelines as required.
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and up to one year of experience in performing semi-skilled building, mechanical, construction, or grounds maintenance tasks. Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license and city-insurable driving record.
Annual entry rate of pay: $15.59 per hour
