ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:
Assist Arts Manager and Recreation Supervisors in planning and organizing community festivals and events; researching and communicating with all event vendors; managing contracts; developing site plans; coordinating with sound and stage production and performers; maintaining proper documentation; event setup and teardown.
Leads event volunteer recruitment, training, and retention for the Department; supervises volunteers on event days.
Coordinates department marketing and communication efforts in collaboration with Department and Community Affairs Division; compiles content for e-newsletters, social media and other marketing platforms and materials.
Assists in coordinating art exhibits; manages exhibits including installation and tear-down; assists Arts Manager and artists to design and display exhibits; maintaining cleanliness and proper display or exhibits; compiles content for gallery guide and signage; promotes exhibits; facilitates gallery receptions.
Assists in the planning and implementation of goals and objectives as provided through City, Department and Division guiding documents (comprehensive plans, master plans, etc.)
Provides support to the Department and Arts Manager; manages event supply inventory; provides administrative support; picks up and delivers items as required; creates and writes letters, memos, invoices, name tags, signage, calendar information, website information, social media postings, exhibition invitations, and other written materials adhering to the Department’s graphic standards.
Coordinates projects with a variety of individuals, commissioners, volunteers, community members, vendors, artists, and staff from other departments; attends and contributes to meetings, shares ideas and represents the Department as appropriate.
Assists with the City’s special event permit application and approval process.
