The first review of applications will be May 28, 2024.Job SummaryUnder general direction, administers the purchasing activities for all materials, supplies, equipment, and services for all City Departments. May supervise other staff.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Functions: Develops and implements purchasing policies and procedures in conformance with effective purchasing practices and requirements of the City.Maintains liaison with City departments to coordinate, consolidate and plan for equipment services, and material needs to ensure the best quality and pricing for the City.Administers formal and informal bidding policies; evaluates bids against specifications and recommends or awards contracts or purchases in accordance with City code, laws and established policyInterviews and negotiates with vendor representatives concerning the availability, price, and terms of purchase of supplies and equipment; provides liaison between vendors and City departments to resolve complaints and secure adjustments.Advises and provides assistance to other City staff regarding purchasing activity; prepare and presents reports evaluating requirements for goods and services in relation to bid specifications.Assists in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff.Performs technical work in purchasing, materials management, inventory control, and perform other related duties as assigned.Administers the disposition of surplus property.
