TREE TRIMMER/ STREET MAINTENANCE
The City of Auburn Street Department is seeking a hard-working, self-motivated individual to join our team as a full time TREE TRIMMER, primarily maintaining the City streets treescape, including tree trimming, viability evaluation and removal. The individual will also assist the Street Department in a wide variety of seasonal street maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, be motivated to serve others and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties/Skills/Responsibilities/Qualifications
- Trim and remove trees and stumps. Experienced in roping techniques and operating chain saws, pruners, stump grinders and other common equipment used in this process.
- Trim trees around power and utility lines.
- Gathers brush and disposes of it by operating a brush chipper.
- Assists in patching streets and does hand work in preparation for black topping.
- Assists in monthly brush/debris pick up and removal.
- Assists in operating leaf vacuums during Fall leaf collection.
- Assists in curb work and sidewalk removal.
- Assists in cleaning and maintaining of catch basins.
- Plows snow, hauls snow and spreads salt.
- Performs daily equipment checks and preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment.
- Sweeps streets as required.
- Mows City owned property as required.
- Paints city streets and parking areas as required.
- Occasionally operates various equipment in absence of regular operator or specific training assignment.
- Lifts 75-150 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Works safely in a team environment or can work independently.
- Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

- $20 - $24 / hour depending uponexperience.
