Clarios- Senior/Lead Tax Analyst
Clarios is looking for a Senior/Lead Tax Analyst to become a key member of its developing Domestic tax team. Reporting directly to the Domestic Senior Tax Manager, the Senior/Lead Tax Analyst will collaborate on all aspects of Domestic tax, including but not limited to the Domestic income tax provision and Domestic tax compliance. This position will coordinate with the Clarios Treasury team, US Finance team, offshore business center team based in Bratislava, and indirectly support the Clarios Global Tax Reporting team. The role requires a basic understanding of tax accounting in a multinational environment with U.S. federal, state, and international tax exposure. The role demands developing leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Objectives/Deliverables
- Help lead the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual Domestic income tax provision computations; assist in coordination of effective tax rate, uncertain tax positions and cash tax deliverables; prepare and review quarterly audit PBC requests
- Be a driver of the Domestic federal and state income tax compliance processes to ensure adherence to deadlines; prepare, update and organize supporting information; prepare and review Domestic tax returns, tax payments, and claims for refund, with an eye towards completeness and accuracy both in the filings and the supporting documentation.
- Understand the business and related tax matters and develop the ability to translate this knowledge into tax planning and forecasting
- Support SOX compliance and documentation
- Research US domestic tax-related issues, and analyze the tax effects of proposed transactions, including reorganizations, acquisitions, and divestitures; draft supporting memoranda.
- Monitor and evaluate tax legislation to identify its applicability to the company; stay current with income tax accounting requirements and developments
- Provide assistance with US domestic tax audits, appeals of tax assessments, and responses to federal & state taxing authority information requests and notices.
- Identify and aid in implementation of control improvements, process efficiencies and data automation.
- Assist in the development of less experienced tax team members
- Support Domestic tax management in Domestic tax planning/strategy initiatives and analysis
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive responsibility in a US domestic tax role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Basic understanding of tax accounting concepts under ASC 740
- Ability to lead and work in a team-oriented environment
- Proactive in seeking opportunities to assist others with various tax projects
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced tax department which values motivated team members who successfully navigate multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to communicate technical issues to both tax and non-tax professionals
- Proven analytical, organizational, documentation and self-management skills with a positive mindset inherent throughout
- Basic tax planning skills; developed research skills
Additional Preferences:
- Experience in Big 4 Public Accounting and multinational corporation
- CPA or equivalent preferred
- High competency level with various income tax provision and compliance software applications including OneSource Tax Provision and Corptax Tax Compliance;
- Experience with SAP, Sage FAS, and BNA/CCH research programs a plus
