Job Posting for Workers Compensation Specialist at Classen Urgent Care Clinic
Duties/Responsibilities:
Checks to ensure that the clinics records for patients include all information required for insurance reimbursement.
Verifies correct coding to ensure prompt payment.
Inputs correct billing information and transmits electronically to the insurance carrier.
Consults with claim clerks in the insurance office about any disputed claims and follows up on all bills not processed within usual claim period.
Reviews remittance advice forms to determine any adjustments made to bills as submitted and consults with the insurance office.
Skills/Abilities:
Must have verbal communication skills and hearing ability to discuss billing with medical staff, patients, and insurance staff.
Must have great phone interaction skills.
Education and Experience:
Two years of experience in clerical/office support work and/or education at the high school or post-high school level in English, spelling, keyboarding, computers, business, or office practices.
At least one year experience dealing with workers comps preferred.
