Job Summary:
Clean Rite Centers is the largest privately owned laundromat chain in the country. Our Area Managers play a critical role in our company's success through effective management of our people and stores. To be successful in this role, an individual should possess strong leadership skills, drive productivity, manage daily operations and ensure profitability for their store locations. The Area Manager is directly accountable and responsible for the overall operation of assigned stores area.
Essential Job Functions:
Area Managers play a key role in ensuring each assigned store location operates effectively. Area Managers drive productivity and facilitate the success of their General Managers and Customer Service Associates, while adhering to budget guidelines as well as the responsibilities listed below:
- Manage the development of sales and profit utilizing the tools and reports available for all stores with special focus on high volume and underperforming stores
- Ensure all stores have an appropriate store organization based on staffing guidelines
- Ensure compliance of all daily functions and best practices
- Monitor customer service to ensure the quality of service is commensurate with company standards
- Visit each store on a consistent basis; however, the duration of visit is to be based upon store needs and performance
- Dedicate administrative time as needed
- Ensure protection of Company assets
- Provide consistent direction, leadership, accountability and training to General Managers
- Support the development of all General Manager and Customer Service Associates
- Monitor interviewing and selection as well as training programs
- Maintain a professional working relationship with personnel at all levels
- Report to and communicate with Supervisor with urgency and as needed
- Communicate with urgency on all Human Resources matters
- Timely communication with corporate office
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all business matters
- Able to be flexible and open-minded to implement new concepts
- Upholds a sense of urgency and follow-through on a daily basis
- Maintains an effective working relationship with customers and employees
- Possesses excellent listening, communication and organizational skills
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time for a shift
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds
- Must be able to communicate with all customers and associates in a professional manner
- Ability to resolve customer issues/complaints in a fashionable and timely manner
- Ability to train all store associates in their assigned tasks
- Must be able to design and create spreadsheets, performance reports, business reviews, presentations, proposals and recommendations within market territory
- Implement programs and ideas to drive sales goals, aide in opening new store locations
The successful area manager should be able to work shifts in each store as set forth herein:
Expected Shifts:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, with minimum of 40 hours per week split between in store and office work.
- If assigned 3 stores- Work shifts in each store totaling 10 hours per store (single or double coverage)
- If assigned 4 stores- Work shifts in each store totaling 6 hours per store (single or double coverage)
- If assigned 5 stores- Work shifts in each store totaling 4 hours per store (single or double coverage)
- Assigned stores will vary between 3-5 and may change according to company size and need
While schedules may vary, our managers typically are scheduled to work 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day each week as a baseline, with a minimum of 40 work hours, inclusive of manger/administrative time. Managers cannot take consecutive days off; as a result, a typical schedule would be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturdays. Again, actual schedules may vary. Our managers on occasion may need to cover a different shift (including overnight hours) if the business dictates.
