Assist in remedying barriers to the educational success for students whose full participation in educational activities is threatened or marginalized. Collaborate with students, families, district staff, and community partners to provide support and resources to students identified as at-risk students of not graduating. Facilitate the distribution of resources to campus personnel and students’ families. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work or counseling
Valid Texas Social Work or Counseling Certification or Licensure preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Ability to coordinate district functions
Ability to organize and maintain data
Ability to implement procedures
Computer skills consistent with district expectations
Experience
Minimum of 3 years successful Social Work or Counseling experience in the school setting preferred
Experience working with at-risk students and their families preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Establish and advise campus personnel and leaders to ensure quality services for at-risk students.
- Track detailed status of social work service program.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of identification of students and services provided.
- Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations and partners.
- Serve as liaison between at-risk students, community services, campus staff, and Coordinator of Counseling & Student Services.
- Develop, coordinate, and host resource events that address meeting the needs of students and families.
- Participate with student, parent, and/or teacher meetings pertaining to identified at-risk students as requested.
- Collaborate with district and campus personnel to provide services to assist in remedying student barriers to school attendance and achievement.
- Conduct visits with at-risk students on campuses and/or via home visits to coordinate needed services
- Conduct visits with students in Foster Care, students receiving McKinney-Vento Services, and other vulnerable populations of at-risk students to coordinate support services
- Provide appropriate social work services to students referred through district Social Work Services referral process.
- Collaborate with DAEP campuses to provide services and resources to students assigned to DAEP as requested.
