Accounting
Clearview is currently seeking an Accountant to work in the Accounting and Finance department of Clearview Group corporate office in Owings Mills, MD. We are looking for well rounded, business minded professionals. It is not just about the accounting work that needs to be done, it is about supporting Clearview’s internal accounting team and the greater business objectives including working with different departments, getting into the details and problem solving! If you have a "roll up your sleeves" approach and an entrepreneurial attitude towards growing a business, we want to talk to you.
We purposefully used the term ‘Accountant’ as this role could be tailored for a Staff or Senior Accountant. Depends on the individuals skill set and then assigning specific responsibilities that match our needs and your experience / and future goals. We have a great team, and we are able to work within our framework to hire the next great team member. We hire for the attitude and base skill set; and are happy to train new hires on our systems and processes. This is a hands-on role responsible for completing periodic (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) tasks with an eye on process improvements – one where you will be responsible and roll up your sleeves.
Position Description:
This is full cycle accounting, everything from journal entries to corporate and department level reporting. We are always looking to do things a better way. This is not a typical plug and play role – even though it may sound that way from the following…The Accountant creates financial transactions and creates financial reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers and supplier invoices. The Accountant also reconciles accounts to ensure their accuracy. This role will not be responsible for Payroll.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
- Previous experience as a Staff Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Strong Excel Skills (Pivot Tables and Vlookups at a minimum - - PowerBI would be a big plus)
- Ability to think outside the box with the goal of making things better (not just accepting the way things are done currently)
Principal Accountabilities:
- Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
- Expense Claim management
- Issue invoices to customers
- Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank account(s) – by reconciling transactions each day
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of all Balance Sheet and Revenue Accounts to ensure their accuracy
- Analytical review and related documentation
- Issue financial statements
- Corporate – along with documenting outliers through summary narrative
- Department P&L’s – understanding the P&L’s and working with Practice Leads in monthly meetings to optimize and to provide insight on departmental spend
- Calculate and issue financial analysis of financial statements
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Ad-hoc improvement projects
