Where You Will Work:
Clearwater Paper’s Las Vegas facility produces through-air-dried (TAD) ultra-premium bathroom tissue, household paper towels, facial tissue, and napkins for major retail outlets throughout the United States. Boasting over 200 talented employees, the Las Vegas location sits on 23 acres and uses state-of-the-art technology, automation, and a variety of equipment such as laser-guided vehicles. Located within the Mojave Desert, North Las Vegas sits just northeast of Las Vegas as the 4th largest city in the state of Nevada. The city offers an extensive park and recreation program including 34 parks that cover more than 475 acres of developed parkland. Recently completed Southern Nevada’s Neon to Nature regional trail system includes 10 miles used for hiking, biking, and leisurely strolls. What You Will Do:
Quality control technicians are responsible for testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable company quality standards. Quality control technicians test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met.
Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality, reviewing MAS’s and set-up sheet specifications to compare to produced goods
Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with workmanship standards by monitoring the product being produced and disposition any that do not meet requirements
Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database
Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence, help to check and update quality control policies
Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs
Assist with Trials, First Production Runs, and Sample order Request
Determining the causes of product defects and reworks, focus on Corrective Actions, Maintain all documentation for the purpose of auditing
Engage in quality internal/external audits
Work with the Quality Control Supervisor regarding specific information relating to quality information and production
What You Will Need:
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates with the following:
- Internal Candidates must be a current Level 3 or above to apply to the role
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Industrial or Paper Manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
- Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
- Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12-hour shift
- Able to lift, up to 40 lbs frequently, between 40 and 50 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs minimally.
- Work environment includes exposure to compressed air, steam, lubrication oil, dust, and hydraulic fluid.
- Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays. Able to work overtime as needed.

Salary : $38,300 - $48,500
