The Emerging Products team at Clever partners across the company and with schools to discover new opportunities that unlock the potential of education technology in the classroom. This role will be key to the growth of our paid add-ons to tackle key issues being faced by schools such as security, student engagement analytics, device management, and student safety.
Clever is looking for a Design Manager to lead the team responsible for creating the next generation of learning infrastructure. In this role you will join a cross-functional team of product managers, designers and engineers that are identifying customer needs and bringing brand new products to market.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Immerse yourself with school leaders, teachers and students to identify pain points and build delightful products that simplify technology use in schools.
- Create and evolve the vision and design strategy for Clever's emerging products.
- Work closely with cross-functional peers across the organization to contribute to the overall business strategy.
- Build, coach and grow a world-class team of product designers.
- Create an environment where designers at multiple levels can do the best work of their careers.
- Scale the abilities of the design team through skill, process, and culture improvements.
- Partner with a team of cross-functional leaders to bring new products and features to market.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- 2 years experience managing designers.
- 5 years of design and user research experience with an emphasis on user research and new product discovery.
- Experience mentoring or coaching other designers and researchers.
- Experience working with cross-functional partners and leading complex cross-functional projects.

For Colorado* based candidates - The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in Colorado is between $145,000 - $195,000 final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise. We offer a full robust benefits package and stock options. Because Clever's base compensation is driven by location, our recruiters will be happy to discuss a salary range for other locations during the interview process.
