The Climate Corporation seeks a dedicated front-end engineering manager to guide the delivery of our next generation of products and services. You will have the opportunity to work with large, "big data" sets such as scientific data, machine generated data from our farmer's equipment to geospatial data, precision agriculture, remote sensing, weather and or soil data.  We are revolutionizing the agriculture industry by helping the world's farmers sustainably increase their productivity with digital tools.   If you are someone that is passionate about innovation and excited about being a key contributor to building a sustainable business, The Climate Corporation would love to talk to you!

What You Will Do: 

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a group of high-performing web engineers with a strong team-oriented culture. 
  • Guide the professional development of each direct report through performance management and coaching. 
  • Oversee the development, deployments of our FieldView Web application. 
  • Identify, propose, and drive engineering projects that improve the performance, reliability, stability, maintainability, and extensibility of the FieldView Web application. 
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to translate strategic ideas into technical roadmaps. 
  • Partner across Engineering teams to develop and evolve client friendly backend APIs. 
  • Make data-driven decisions by developing and tracking product and application KPIs. 
  • Learn more about the agriculture industry and the unique challenges that need to be solved to grow food sustainably. 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • 2 years building, leading, and growing diverse groups of engineers 
  • 5 years of professional software development of Web applications.   
  • Strong understanding of good practices 
  • Experience leading multiple teams in agile development (e.g., scrum, Kanban, SAFe) 
  • Experience leading distributed teams 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with git, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, modern CSS and GraphQL 
  • Experience with continuous deployment 
  • Experience with internationalization and localization 
  • Passionate about building scalable architectures using clean, robust, and testable code

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $193,455 - $231,704. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
