A Level III Trauma Hospital in northern California is actively seeking an Emergency Department Charge Nurse for a busy Emergency Department. The Charge Nurse will work the night shift at this busy medical center. The Charge Nurse is the lead RN for the noc shift and may take on patients dependent on staffing. The Charge Nurse will be proud to work at this are leading ED.
The Emergency Room Charge Nurse works closely with the House Supervisor and inpatient Unit Nurse Management to coordinate patient admissions and flow throughout the ED and inpatient bed placement. The Emergency Department runs 24/7 and the Night Shift Charge Nurse is on the front lines during a 12 hour shift leading this department. The Emergency Dept. Charge RN may provide direct patient care which includes:
- Triage: Nurses in the ER are often responsible for triaging patients, which means assessing the severity of their conditions and prioritizing their care accordingly.
- Administering medications and treatments: Nurses may administer medications, perform procedures, or provide other types of treatment to stabilize patients and manage their symptoms.
- Monitoring vital signs: Nurses in the ER closely monitor patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels, to ensure they are stable and responding to treatment.
- Communicating with other healthcare providers: ER nurses often work closely with doctors, paramedics, and other healthcare providers to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
