The Infection Control Manager Specialist at this hospital will play a crucial role in keeping the patients and employees safe. Reporting to the Administrative Director of Quality and Risk Management, you will form and manage an interdisciplinary team of RNs, MLTs, and Infection Prevention Coordinators to lead infection control processes throughout the hospital. This means that the Inpatient Infection Manager will wear many hats in this inpatient acute care environment.
You will serve as a thought leader for the hospital, educating practitioners and support staff on the various causes and control processes for infection risk. To successfully fulfil this role, the Infection Control Manager will need to be equal parts communicator and influencer. Integrating the philosophies of infection prevention will require a deep understanding of the processes and components of the hospital, engaging hospital leadership in the process, and effective reporting of progress.
Working closely with this medical center’s inpatient laboratory, the Manager of Inpatient Infection Control will work closely with RN Nursing Unit Leaders, the Quality Improvement Team, Physicians, and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee to develop and implement hospital-wide measures that prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.
