A new opportunity as a Lab Manager has just become available with a Critical Access Hospital in Northern California.
The Lab Manager will work for a small 20 bed critical access hospital that offers a variety of services, including Emergency Services, Pharmacy, 58 bed Skilled Nursing Facility, Radiology, Laboratory, Physical Therapy, and Surgical Services. The hospital is a top Performing Hospital in the region and offers comprehensive care to their community.
There is much responsibility for the Manager of Laboratory while on site. With that being said, 2 years of experience in a Medical Lab as well as a minimum of 1 year in management or multiple years in a Supervisory role is very important. If you do not carry this experience but believe you have a background and certifications that match the needs, you are still encouraged to apply. Director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the department as well as staffing needs to choose competent and compliant staff members to perform everyday procedures.
Other responsibilities of Manager of Laboratory may include;
- Proper examination, and analysis in making a diagnosis
- Assume responsibilities for Director when they are gone
- Ongoing monitoring of each test used in Lab
- Preparing budgets, schedules, and reports as needed
- Record and report test results effectively, and efficiently
