POSITION TITLE: TERRITORY MANAGER
REPORTS TO: VP RETAIL OPERATIONS
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Territory Manager (TM) is responsible for overseeing and providing leadership of a group of 6 – 10 Store Managers, who are responsible for sales growth and profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, recruitment, training, and development of staff and operations. The TM position requires strong delegation, leadership, and operational skills to effectively manage high-volume performance. The TM motivates its team in our fast-paced, challenging, and compelling environment. They are the key leader in promoting brand standards, store operations, and the safety of all guests and Team Members.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exceeding operational goals as related to sales, profitability, and expenses through the implementation of established programs and processes
- People Management - Sourcing, Recruiting, Selecting, and developing diverse talent for the territory.
- Managing operational budgets and lowering costs.
- Developing and implementing short and long-term goals for Retail Sites and their Store Managers.
- Participating in special needs or future projects as needed.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with all levels of management
- Demonstrate abilities with Human Resource and Loss Prevention issues
- Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Assist managers to complete various tasks as needed, including accident reports, personnel change forms, new hire paperwork, etc.
- Reviews reports completed by the stores, including daily sales reports, shift analysis reports, inventory control logs, and cash audits
- Supports and encourages community involvement for assigned territory.
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft suite of programs.
- Adhere to all Clipper, federal, state, and local safety-related regulations, including food safety regulations.
- Completes all training courses as directed.
PREREQUISITES:
Education: High school diploma or GED is required, Bachelor’s Degree desired, or equivalent work experience.
Experience & Skills: A minimum of five (5) years in a restaurant or retail environment, experience in supervising and training staff. Ability to work with little supervision. Understands how to prioritize their day, week, and month to ensure all goals are met. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid state-issued driver’s license and insurability on Clipper insurance are required.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the retail sites when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions: C-Store / restaurant environment with some exposure to discomforting conditions, including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and noise from cooling units. Physical demands are moderately heavy, limited to lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, and occasionally climbing ladders. Will be on your feet throughout the entire shift.

Explorers started with 4 trucks and drivers, in 1997, and today, Explorers has 27 trucks and drivers and delivers fuel to approximately 250 accounts across the southeast. Clipper Petroleum is a distributor of Amoco, BP, Exxon, Texaco, 76, Shell, Citgo, and Chevron branded fuels.
Today, Explorers transport delivers petroleum products to over 250 dealer accounts in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Alabama. The combination of Clipper’s retail store sales and wholesale dealer sales has allowed Clipper Petroleum to be recognized as one of the largest petroleum distributors in the Southeast.
Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
