What are the responsibilities and job description for the Greenskeeper position at Club Hire?
The Country Club located in Pepper Pike, Ohio is seek a Golf Course Management Apprentice to develop and advance their career in maintaining one of the Midwest's premier country clubs.
Beginning in August 2022, renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse will restore the golf course to emulate Flynn’s original design. The work will include:
- Green expansions of 30,000 square feet using existing nursery sod
- Fairway expansions
- New Tee construction
- Tree removal
- Re-construction of all bunkers using Better Billy Bunker
- New short game area added to the practice facility
- Installation of new irrigation around greens and tees
The applicant will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance with a focus on development and advancement in their career. Duties include, but not limited to:
- Team and project management
- Moisture management
- Providing firm and fast conditions daily on native push-up Poa greens
- Equipment operation
- Irrigation troubleshooting and repair
- Toro Lynx irrigation system
- Chemical/fertilizer calibration and applications
- Involvement in the planning and implementation of IPM strategies
- Involvement in Green Committee and Construction project meetings

Preferred Requirements:
- The applicant will have a Turfgrass Management or closely related field in a Certificate, 2-year, or 4-year program.
