Position Overview
Merchant, Men’s Merchandising will proactively work on the creation of product assortments and assigned category investment strategy to maximize sales and profitability. Club Monaco is a merchant led organization and this role will be critical in leading all cross-functional teams in the successful execution of merchandising strategies. This person will be the product expert and will be the key lead reporting into the Director of Men’s Merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops a customer focused business strategy to deliver the company’s financial goals.
- Drives and communicates a global omni-channel vision of the brand by product category.
- Manages and presents a product brief to design based on real-time sales data, competitive landscape, and global financial goals including pricing, IMU and profitable sell through.
- Owns the relationship and communication between Merchandising and the cross-functional teams (Design, Production, Creative, Planning, Digital, Wholesale & International) to drive a collaborative working environment.
- Leads weekly, monthly, and quarterly hindsight processes and provides recommendations for both near and long-term actions.
- Works with design and production to quickly adapt on-order for emerging sales trends or declining product categories.
- Develops their categories within the context of a global line to ensure product offering meets brand merchandising strategies and channel / regional needs while identifying areas for growth opportunity.
- Sets global price structure aligning to a good, better, best strategy. Brings creative solutions for costing challenges and operates with a keen understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Collaborates with Tech Design to provide Merchandising perspective in seasonal and weekly fits.
- Manages all product tools to ensure 100% accuracy, including Flex PLM, Power BI, GA, D365 software and internal Excel-based maintenance. Anything else here on BI/365??
- Creates global Omni Brief and Product Knowledge to communicate key investments and product initiatives to Marketing, ECOM, Creative, and Store team.
- Partners with the digital team to create a best-in-class digital experience.
- Leads product journey through to customer facing channels and final sales.
- Assorts the line and partners with Merchandise Planning to deliver business strategy objective.
- Partners with planning and allocation on buys during assortment planning process.
- Manages inventory in real time through markdowns, promotions, and agile inventory opportunities to hit successful sales, margin, and inventory goals.
- Drives the business through in-season management, assessment, and reaction to current trends. Focus on driving digital growth through eCommerce channels.
- Build and lead an effective team and work successfully with all cross functional partners.
- Develop and mentor direct reports by providing a clear path for development and success in their role.
Skills/Behaviors
- 4 years’ experience in Merchandising or Buying. Vertical experience preferred.
- At least one year of supervisory experience required.
- Self-starter with intense attention to detail & deadliness
- Strong understanding of trends within the marketplace and the Club Monaco customers.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Outlook, Word.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional leadership skills required.
- Ability to develop and maintain respectful, strong relationships across the organization.
