At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services), our mission is to protect, empower and promote independence for at-risk children and families and those with developmental disabilities through quality community-based services. A COA Accredited Agency, CMCS has provided services in locations throughout Westchester and Rockland Counties, as well as the Bronx and Manhattan since 1946.
As a Recruiter, you will play an integral role in the Human Resources Department. You will serve as the initial point of contact for full cycle recruitment and onboarding efforts. This includes sourcing, job posting, identifying suitable candidates, conducting screenings, negotiating job offers, developing offer letters, preparing onboarding documentation and scheduling of PPD, fingerprint and background checks through OPWDD/OCFS and working with a third-party background checks vendor. In addition, you will act as a point of contact and build relationships with prospective employees and hiring managers during the employment process.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
- At least 1-2 years’ experience recruiting/onboarding in a non-profit environment
- Prior experience working with background checks through OPWDD, OCFS, OMH
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Additional Requirements
- Detail-oriented and good organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, ADP and Google Docs

Monday - Friday, temporarily remote, salary $40-43K annually
