Job Summary
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the credentialing and privileging functions, incomplete record monitoring, and support relating to electronic physician documentation systems under the supervision of the Director of Health Information Services. This position requires a good working knowledge of medical staff credentialing and computer technology along with outstanding communication and customer service skills. This position will work closely with the organization’s providers regarding timely completion of medical records.
Requirements:

Demonstrates ability to cope with interruptions and remember and recall pertinent guidelines, policies, and procedures. Proficient in computer and technology use, including but not limited to database management, Microsoft office, charts, and graphs. Must have the ability to work alone without direct supervision, problem solve, and be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions. Proven interpersonal relationship skills including effective listening, team building and conflict resolution skills. Must possess the ability to seek out and accept new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into the departmental routine. Must be able to work in an environment with multiple interruptions and prioritize workload to meet demands. Must be able to prioritize work and multi-task effectively. Flexibility and ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation.
Education and/or Experience:
Experience working with electronic medical records and/or credentialing. Experience in the operation of a computerized health care information system. Associate degree from two-year college or technical school with major in Health Information Technology preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPCS or RHIT certification from the American Health Information Management Association preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups. Requires competent written and verbal communication skills, be capable of effectively interacting with all levels of staff. High degree of interpersonal skills, demonstrating tact, courtesy, and positive approach methods.
Wage:
You could earn a starting wage of $22.27-$28.95 per hour, depending on your work experience
