Job description
Coad Toyota in Paducah is currently looking for a personable individual who works well with customers as well as fellow employees to become a service writer. Daily tasks include intaking service customers and writing up the issues on their vehicles and conveying those issues to technicians and providing the customer with the solution suggested by the technician.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner, and let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be helped soon.
· Schedule appointments using dealership-approved forms.
· Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problem.
· Obtain customer & vehicle data and accurately enter it into the dealership’s system.
· Test-drive the vehicle with the customer if there is any question as to the nature of the problem.
· Advise customers on the care of their vehicles and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, using maintenance menus.
· Maintain a CSI rating at least comparable to that of the manufacturer, zone, or branch average.
· Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
· Ensure that all repair orders are accounted for and closed out.
· If additional work is needed, explain the details to the customer, including the additional costs and time consideration.
· Indicate on repair order the exact repair instructions, making a special note of the main reason the customer brought the vehicle in for repair in legible handwriting.
· Obtain customer’s signature on repair orders.
· Follow up on the progress of each repair order during the day.
· Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process & appointments and return phone messages promptly.
· Deliver vehicle to customers & answer any questions.
· Completion of work, repair orders must be closed in a timely and efficient manner.
· Interpret warranty information & policies to customers.
Candidate Criteria:
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to read & comprehend instructions & information.
· Professional personal appearance.
· Excellent oral & written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Dealership experience
· General knowledge of mechanical operations
· ASE certification
· 1 year of sales experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
