Coahoma Community College is seeking to hire a Head Women's Basketball Coach. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach reports to the Athletic Director. Primary responsibilities include the management and development of all aspects of the women’s basketball program including recruitment, organization of practices, and games, scheduling, budgeting, facility, and equipment maintenance. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, thorough knowledge of and adherence to the rules and regulations of Coahoma Community College, National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC), and a thorough understanding of the role of athletics in the educational process.

- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the NJCAA, MACCC, and Coahoma Community College rules and regulations and adhere to all rules and regulations.
- Recommend to the Athletic Director the sport’s competitive event schedule.
- Supervise all contacts with prospective student-athletes by others to avoid violations of recruiting rules and regulations.
- Promote the athletic program and specific sport through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing.
- Manage all operational, fiscal, and administrative activities for the specific sports program.
- Monitor academic progress and status of team members, implementing action plans through appropriate staff when needed.
- Coordinate housing arrangements for student-athletes with the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in the transportation of student-athletes to and from medical facilities.
- Manage student athletes’ misconduct appropriately and immediately on and off the court.
- Recruit quality prospective student-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions.
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times through behavior and appearance.
- Is responsible for the search, selection, and training of qualified assistant coaches by all college personnel policies.
- Is responsible for annually evaluating all coaches and staff under his/her supervision.
- Coordinate team travel needs with the Athletic Director.
- Maintain clean bathrooms, dressing, and storage areas.
- Report issues regarding the field and athletic facilities immediately (scoreboard, basketball goals, dressing rooms, etc.).
- Attend professional meetings and workshops.
- Demonstrate a cooperative attitude toward all other sports within the Department of Athletics.
- Complete and submit documents promptly.
- Regularly inspect playing and practice surfaces and equipment to ensure safety.
- Follow the proper chain of command.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Athletic Director.
