The purpose of the Pipe and Grade Foreman position is to plan, execute, monitor, control and close our site
development projects per each job scope via the responsibilities listed below. These responsibilities include
but are not limited to the following:
Requirements:
• Must have prior experience as a pipe and grade foreman
• Should be able to operator excavators and dozers
• Must be able to read and interpret civil plans as it pertains to site contracting both grading and utility
phases
• Show good management experience
• Must be able to read grade stakes and survey pins
• Must be able to operate Trimble GPS systems
Scheduling & Project Planning:
• Create schedules for jobs as a whole and update job schedules weekly. Reviewing schedules with Site
Superintendent
• Performing material take off’s as needed
• Assist Site Superintendent with coordinating equipment delivery
• Assist Site Superintendent with material schedules
• Assist Site Superintendent in coordinating sub-contractors when needed
• Ensure inspections are being scheduled through counties, engineers, owners, or general contractors
• Review and study each project’s plans, scope, and existing conditions to ensure and understand
correlation and expectations
• Manual laborer will be required when needed
Supervision:
• Reviewing plans and scope of work with crew members to ensure they fully understand what’s to be
expected
• Oversee and manage crew members on a daily basis to ensure job is being built per plans and
specifications
• Responsible for setting up and double checking instrument accuracy and operation
• Conducting daily morning meetings with crew members to explain what the work day brings and set
daily goals to accomplish by end of the day
Reporting:
• Complete weekly expense reports on tablet
• Complete daily time records on tablet
• Complete daily logs on tablet
• Report material usage on tablet
• Produce as built drawings as pipe is being laid
Job Budgeting:
• Keep material hauled in and exported at or below job quantities
• Maintain crew schedule to ensure the job is at or under schedule
Employee Development:
• Helping to identify areas of improvement for crew members
• Having quarterly performance meetings with crew members. Reviewing areas of greatness and needs
improvement
Safety and Erosion/Sedimate Control
• Safety protocol is being met at all times
• Setting up and maintaining erosion and sedimate control measures
• Conducting tool box talks with crew members once a week
• Call miss utility marks for ALL jobs and get refreshed as needed
• Ensuring rigging, lift points, and safety shoring is installed properly
