Job Description
At CoBank, Senior RPA Developer – Operations is the subject matter expert and has a key role in supporting the use of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This role functions as the SME for the Automation Anywhere application, collaborating with the Business Units to ensure automations meet their needs and stay current with business operations, policies, and processes. The Senior RPA Developer is responsible for the day-to-day activities including development, process analysis/discovery and production support. On an on-going basis, this position provides input to the evolution of the RPA program to meet the Company's evolving business needs, including supporting future citizen developers and onboarding additional RPA developers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads Development of solutions and step-by-step processes for improving quality, delivery, efficiency, and customer and employee experience for business partners using the RPA application.
- Responsible for the performance reliability, and maintenance of RPA automations.
- Provides assistance to junior developers and assists in high level architecture discussions – optimize automations.
- Resolves production issues in a timely and accurate way and engages IT and the vendor as necessary.
- Participates in the Change Management process for moving new/modified use cases to production.
- Maintains expert knowledge of automation/RPA and related applications through training and experience.
- Works closely with Program/Process owner/SME and business units regarding enhancements and changes.
- Contributes to Automation portfolio and weekly discussions for updates, requests for support, and instilling best practices into our automations.
- Interacts with key business partners and customers to discuss CoBank’s use of automation and aspects of the process improvement strategy.
- Promotes agile development.
- Coordinates, develops and executes User Acceptance Testing and training in collaboration with Business Analysts, ACoE Manager, and Business line.
- Provides input into adjacent technology to accelerate adoption and scale of automation program.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as a sounding board for Operations Division Leadership in matters related to process automation and automation tools and capabilities.
- Remains informed and up-to-date on current and emerging market trends in the automation and RPA spaces.
- Work with business architects to build out automation processes in Sygnavio.
- Participates in special projects, and performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical area;
- Five (5) or more years of hands on experience using RPA tools such as UiPath Blue Prism, and Automation Anywhere or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience performing technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Banking experience preferred
- Experience working in operations in either processing or service groups preferred
- Basic understanding of object-oriented code structure
- Solid understanding of robotic processes and methodology
- Experience with source control/versioning tools such as Git and ticketing tools such as Service Now.
- Proficient with process re-engineering and/or business transformation
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills that enhance working with problems that are complex and often unique. Ability to maintain flexibility and resilience when working in ambiguous situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences. Excellent active listening skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours.
- Availability for occasional travel.
Compensation Information
- Estimated Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000
- Target short-term incentive opportunity: 18%
