What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier position at Cobbie's Corner Store?
We are looking for a skilled Cashier/cook to work evenings and some weekends. We are a locally owned, community oriented convenience store that is looking for fun, happy, detailed oriented, hard working employee's to help us preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our clientele. Must be at least 17 years old to apply
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various utensils or grillers
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
- Printing out Maine State Lottery tickets
- Operating fuel pumps
- Taking accurate food orders for customers
- Will need to ID those buying 21 items (Spirits, wine, beer, and tobacco products)
Skills
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of registers is a plus
- Proven experience as cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work as team member
- Very good communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $12.75 per hour
