Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor tasks in support of special event facility rentals including, but not limited to: occasional support for trades workers; works with and around the public; participates in stable operations including enforces stable policies, receives payments for stable rent, delivers shavings to stalls, supervises and cleans stalls; performs a variety of semi-skilled manual labor duties under limited supervision; maintenance of public buildings, grounds and equipment, including litter pick-up and restroom cleaning; performs grounds maintenance, operates a variety of hand and power tools; loading and unloading trucks and supplies; and other duties as assigned.There are 3 positions available with up to 40 hours per week during the summer season. Opportunities to work additional dates and hours may be available.

This is a temporary position to fulfill the summer season of May 1 - September 30. There may be some flexibility in work schedule.

• Performs manual labor

Essential functions include but not limited to sitting, standing, in close vicinity people and livestock, walking and bending; twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy loads up to 60 lbs.; working with and around event producers, supervisors, and other crew members; interruptions; repetitive motion (elbow/shoulder); vision acuity (near/far); hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; finger dexterity/touch. Environmental factors may include and not limited to work outside; noise exposure; use of mechanical devices; exposure to odors and dust. Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a background check.
This position is non-exempt from overtime.Considerable knowledge of:
- Operation of power and manual tools
- Operation of light equipment
Working knowledge of:
- Tools, materials, methods and practices used in landscaping
- Traffic laws, ordinances and regulations involved in equipment operation
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions
Ability to:
- Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays
- Work extended hours out of doors in varying weather conditions
- Perform heavy manual labor
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds
- Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
