Position Overview:

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in a diverse and international setting, where English is the working language. This role is steeped in agile practices, primarily using the Kanban framework. Your responsibilities will include automating tests, participating in manual testing, supporting product teams, and leading initiatives to boost platform reliability and performance. You will lead a talented team of engineers and provide cross-functional technical leadership to ensure the platform operates smoothly and remains at the cutting edge of technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Test Automation: Develop and execute comprehensive end-to-end automated tests using tools like Puppeteer or Playwright, design automated API tests for RESTful services using tools such as Postman or SoapUI, and conduct load testing using JMeter or LoadRunner to ensure system robustness under peak loads.
  • Support and Team Collaboration: Uphold engineering best practices, assist with specification clarifications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that infrastructure and application developments are well-aligned with product and design requirements.
  • Incident Management: Utilize monitoring tools such as OpenSearch or Datadog to detect and manage incidents efficiently. Configure and manage advanced alerting systems to automate notifications of potential issues, enabling pre-emptive action.
  • Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest trends in test automation, observability, and monitoring. Actively participate in internal training sessions, workshops, and code reviews to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Essential:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in testing, including test automation and manual testing.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or Python.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, particularly Kanban or SCRUM.
  • Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and incident management tools such as OpenSearch, Datadog, or similar.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with SaaS application development.
  • Knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis.
  • Full Stack Developer experience using Node.js, Java, or Python.
  • Experience in workflow automation leveraging AI or LowCode solutions.

Important Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills are required for effective collaboration with developers and clearly explaining technical concepts and business requirements to non-technical team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and delegate tasks efficiently to ensure successful project execution.
  • Proficiency in conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to uphold high standards of code quality.
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and cooperative team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks and coordinating smoothly with external developers.
  • Capable of handling project documentation thoroughly to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
  • Skilled in articulating technical concepts and ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
