Job Purpose: The District Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of the Coen Clean, Friendly, and In-stock brand promise throughout the district. DM will coach and develop the Store Managers to achieve financial goals by continuous hands-on attention in the store environment. Maximize district profitability by managing all controllable expenses, optimizing all revenue streams, and leading and developing a high-performing district team.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
• Work with Store Managers and team to deliver the Coen Clean, Friendly, and In-stock brand promise to every customer, every day, all the time.
• To coach and develop Store Managers to ensure that the right people are in place and processes are executed with excellence at store level.
• Ensure continued growth of store-level management teams through effective workforce planning.
• Deliver and execute all items relating to customer experience to include Coen standards, safe and secure store conditions, and team/customer engagement. Develop, implement, and maintain operational plans to maintain standards. Assist Store Managers by providing focus and prioritization of work.
• Maintain a continuous presence in the stores across all days and shifts (Minimum 5 days per week) to observe, coach, and set expectations.
• Continuously improve the business acumen of store leadership to improve store profitability while driving the key performance indicators.
• Ensure Store Managers are knowledgeable of and trained on how to understand and effectively use all business reports and tools they receive and/or are available to them.
• Understand the local market and competitive landscape sharing findings with the Director of Operations. Respond to changing market conditions and competitor actions to achieve financial targets as well as other health of the business metrics.
• Ensure successful solutions to customer and vendor complaints in a consistent manner.
• Foster, develop, and maintain relationships with internal support services departments and external vendors on local challenges. Understand the support services structure to act as the conduit between stores and support services to resolve store-specific issues.
• Ensure timely, effective, and professional communication with internal and external customers.
• Lead implementation and change management of new initiatives to ensure sustainability, gain alignment from SM team and share feedback on the process with the Director of Operations.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment by complying with all health and sanitation procedures to ensure the district food service operations are always presentable and in stock.
• Ensure compliance with Coen policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Resolve crisis situations with speed and sensitivity. Maintain consistent application of accountability and progressive discipline to ensure continuous improvement.
• Act as a positive role model for all store associates by having a passion for building the business and demonstrating Coen’s guiding principles. Consistently demonstrate brand ambassadorship to team, customers, and communities. Foster, develop, and maintain a culture of personnel growth and leadership development within the District.
• Provide overall direction and support for the team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. Provide feedback, coaching, support opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, take corrective action when appropriate, and participate in hiring decisions.

Audits & Compliance:
• Maintains appropriate control of district assets and performs periodic store cash audits.
• Reviews monthly P&L statements, and works with Store Managers to create, and implement action plans to continually improve results.
• Implement Loss Prevention measures according to company policy.
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports in a timely manner.
Education, Experience:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant business experience is valued and can qualify vs. education for the right candidate. Minimum 3 years of Coen Store Management experience is a qualifier.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience, and 2 years in multi-unit management in Retail or the Food & Beverage industry.
• Proven track record in managing and developing leaders and teams.
Skill Sets:

Other Qualifications:
• Ability to relocate as needed.
• Must be able to travel on a regular basis.
• Ability to respond 24x7x365 to store-related emergencies.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment testing, including background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
Licensure/Certification:
• Valid State Driver’s License, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation is required.
• Serv Safe/Other State or County Certifications within the first 90 days of employment.
• Completes class C fuel operator training within 90 days.
• Tobacco and Alcohol Training.
