One of the most rapidly growing companies in the Atlanta area, Cognosos is seeking an energetic Sr. Embedded Firmware Engineer who wants to help build the product portfolio and be a part of a young company on the rise. This role will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, working with the Chief Product Officer to define the product vision, and collaborating closely with engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop product requirements in response to market needs
- Meet product function and performance objectives through innovative firmware designs
- Develop simple, easy to understand and maintain, error-free code
- Use modern coding methods and tools to manage and track your projects
- Collaborate with other team members to create high-performing, reliable end products
- Design products that can be manufactured and tested in high-volume production
- Analyze field data to determine potential issues and improvements
Required Skills and Experience:
- BS (MS preferred) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
- 10 years of hands-on design experience (internships may qualify)
- Experience developing real-time C or C for low-power ARM-based MCU systems
- Experience using sensors (accelerometer, GPS) and SPI/I2C/USB peripherals
- Experience programming Python for embedded Linux systems
- Familiarity with GitHub, exposure to agile methods and Jira are a plus
- Experience with wireless systems (Bluetooth or other radios)
- Comfortable using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers
