What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Intern position at Coherent Corp. US?
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assigned projects will be in one or more of following areas;
- Process Improvement: Assist in projects to improve manufacturing process. This may also involve projects related to automation and manufacturing connectivity. May be involved in creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Root Cause Analysis: May assist in conducting root cause analysis to identify the underlying cause of problems or inefficiencies in the manufacturing process.
- Data Collection and Analysis: May be responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to the manufacturing processes and products. This may involve using statistical tools and software to identify areas for improvement.
- Lean Manufacturing: May work on implementing Lean Manufacturing methodologies, such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping, to reduce waste, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
- Project Management: May assist in project management activities, such as creating project plans, tracking progress, and communicating updates.
- Documentation: May be responsible for documenting processes, procedures, and project outcomes for future reference.
- Collaboration: May work with other interns, team members, and supervisors to accomplish project goals and objective.
Overall, your primary responsibility as an intern in manufacturing for continual improvement projects is to learn and apply various tools and techniques to improve the manufacturing process and products while contributing to the company's goals and objectives.
