In this role, you will support our Finance and Operations team. You will play a key role in managing the financial bookkeeping of our company. Your duties will include maintaining records, recording journal entries, A/R, A/P and bill pay, financial reports, investor reporting, reconciling bank statements, expense report tracking, and conducting internal audits.
We are open to candidates on a contract/consultant basis and are flexible on work location. Ideally this person will work 1 day per week out of our Downtown Chicago office.
- Compile and present monthly financial reports and variance reports
- Oversee company payroll processing
- Processing and entering vendor payments
- Monthly Invoicing of SaaS fees and implementation fees
- Review of employee expense reports
- Keeping account books and systems up to date
- Support annual planning and budgeting cycles
- Work with Engineering to record Software Capitalization entries and sales on incentive compensation tracking
- Effectively communicate plans, variances and insights to leadership
- Conduct detailed reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
- Verify and reconcile contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with governmental and fiscal regulations
Required Qualifications- 5-10 years of experience in an Accounting-focused role
- CPA, Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or accounting. Associate’s degree ok if 10 years of experience in an accounting role
- Highly organized and detail-oriented who can operate independently and take initiative with little direction
- Detail oriented, able to problem solve using existing tools, and produce reports with minimal errors in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
Desired Qualifications- Highly efficient with Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. Vlookups, Pivot tables), PowerPoint and QuickBooks.
