Mission
Reeves Construction Company is currently searching for a Grading Foreman based out of Newberry, SC location. The primary responsibilities of this position include managing and directing grading crews involved in site work, paving, and utilities. The Grading Foreman plans, coordinates, and directs daily tasks to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Main Responsibilities
Supervises various phases of a grading operation, such as maintenance of equipment, employees, and distribution of product.- Must be able to read and interpret plans.
- Must have the knowledge and ability to set and check grade.
- Must have excellent communication skills in working with the Department of Transportation and other customers, as well as in working with employees and subcontractors.
- Responsible for implementing environmental, health and safety regulations and policies (local, state and government).
- Responsible for arranging for maintenance and repair of equipment, including keeping equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
- Responsible for planning, organizing and coordination of daily activities and work assignments for your team.
- Analyze construction equipment and trucking requirements on the job.
- Assist Superintendent in tracking costs.
- Responsible for deliveries, productions and record keeping.
- Maintain daily records of all significant project facts, events and conditions.
- Have an understanding of the dangers involved in an interstate operation.
- Must have a basic knowledge of abilities and limitations in all applications. Ability to recognize potential problems before breakdowns occur.
- Must have the ability to work safely and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
- Must instruct and train employees and ensure the safety of the workers.
- Must accurately track and report daily work hours for crew, equipment utilization and quantities of work performed.
Requirements
Five or more years of experience in roadway and site construction.- Knowledge of traffic control standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate grading equipment such as Excavators, Dozers, Loaders, etc.
- Do not need to have GPS experience.
- Travel in short intervals may be required.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work away from home for extended periods.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in the English language, both verbally and in written form.
- Must possess a valid, current driver’s license.

Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
