Cold Hollow Cider Mill Bakery Manager
Opportunities await you at Cold Hollow Cider Mill. We are looking to fill the production bakery manager position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making homemade classic recipes and overseeing quality, creation, packaging, merchandising and the bakery team who helps create them.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leading a team of 3-7 bakers,
- Training new employees on production techniques, speed and efficiency in each role
- Jumping in where needed to ensure all products are made in a timely manner and are up to quality standards
- Researching new products and flavors and developing specialty items around major baking holidays: Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, National Donut Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- Ensuring all specialty and pre-orders are completed in a timely manner and to customer specifications
- Maintaining proper inventory levels, placing vendor orders in a timely manner, receiving and organizing orders as they come in
- Monitoring and ensuring all recipe ingredients meet quality standards for menu items
- Developing and maintaining an equipment and facility cleaning schedule
- Responding to customer concerns in a timely, courteous and effective manner
- Communicating with other managers to ensure a smooth and productive operation
Preferred Qualifications and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of baking experience
- Minimum of 2 years leadership experience
- Culinary school background a plus
- Strong use of Microsoft word, excel and modern computer platforms
- Broad background in bread baking, pies, cookies, specialty items- enjoys using natural sweeteners in their recipes (honey, maple syrup, and cider jelly)
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and upper management
- Saturday availability (will have every Sunday and Monday off except during peak season)
- Uploading inventory in the POS system as well as assisting in interdepartmental transfers
- Understanding of food cost, menu pricing and profitability
- Strong organizational skills
Job Type: Full-time, Salary
Pay: $45,000 - $50,000 annually, commensurate on experience
