Job Title: SAP MM Consultant/Specialist

Job Location: Redmond, WA 98052

Job Duration: 6 Months (Contract to hire)

Pay Rate: $92/hr to $95/hr

Job Description:

Why is this open:

• The finance team is getting pretty overworked and they particularly want someone whose really good with SAP, as that’s the system they use.
• Essentially, there’s a need for a SME & basically a liason between the finance teams and the commodity/sourcing/other teams.

Mission:

• The SAP Material Master Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the material master data within the SAP ERP system.
• This role involves ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness, as well as supporting material-related processes and improving data management practices. This role will have direct interaction with finance, planning and purchasing functions within the organization.

Day to Day:

Material Master Data Management:

• Maintain key material master records in SAP. Maintain standard cost per unit for new materials, verify unit of measure, and other key fields within the material master.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across different views and organizational levels (e.g., plant, storage location) and initial cost per unit. This should be coordinated with Finance.
• Collaborate with business users to gather and analyze requirements for material data for new and existing materials.

Data Quality and Governance:

• Implement data quality checks and validation rules to maintain high data integrity.
• Monitor and address data discrepancies and inconsistencies.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures related to material master data.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improving material master data management processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and system changes.
• Provide recommendations for optimizing material data workflows and practices.

Support and Training:

• Offer support and guidance to end-users on material master data-related issues.
• Conduct training sessions for users on material master data procedures and best practices.
• Develop and maintain user documentation and training materials.

System Integration:

• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of material master data with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, PP, SD).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to material master data integration.

Reporting and Analytics:

• Generate and analyze reports related to material master data.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.

Must-Have:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with SAP Material Management (MM) module.
• If their experience is more on the implementation side that’s good!!!
• Proven experience in managing material master data, including creation, maintenance, and governance.

Overall: some sort of background in accounting or supply chain material master.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SAP ERP (specifically MM module) and related functionalities.
• Strong understanding of material master data fields and relationships within SAP.
• Experience with SAP reporting tools (e.g., SAP Query, SAP BusinessObjects) is a plus.

Analytical Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to identify data trends and anomalies.

Soft Skills:

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with different stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management and reporting.
• Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and end-users.
• Project Management: Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
