Job Description

CTE Assessment Coordination :

Responsibilities :

  • Manage all aspects of the CTE Technical Skills Assessment (TSA) program, including planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising exams.
  • Assist in daily management of CTE assessment initiatives and explore new assessments and skill standards relevant to programs.
  • Proctor and oversee the training of assessment proctors.
  • Analyze and interpret program assessment results to guide continuous improvement efforts.
  • Identify and track CTE students (majors, concentrators, participants).
  • Maintain communication with program managers and department chairs on assessment goals and outcomes.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all CTE assessments.
  • Collaborate with department chairs and faculty to track program enrollment.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and FERPA regulations for all TSAs.
  • Coordinate with the Testing Center for TSA exam delivery.
  • Promote TSAs to students and faculty, encouraging completion.
  • Secure funding for TSAs by working with administration and planning the annual budget.
  • Utilize CSI's operating system for maintaining assessment records.
  • Maintain flexible work hours (evenings and weekends) to accommodate program needs.

Center for New Directions :

Responsibilities :

  • Manage all aspects of Displaced Homemaker and CTE Non-traditional Student scholarships, including creation, application review, and award distribution.
  • Assess scholarship eligibility and need based on state criteria, applying discretion as required.
  • Possess knowledge of state special populations and scholarship requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal offices (e.g., Financial Aid) to assess student financial need and scholarship eligibility.
  • Prepare the annual Perkins application for securing CTE Non-traditional Student grant funds.
  • Complete mandatory year-end reporting for the Center for New Directions to the state.

CTE Program Application Process Coordination :

Responsibilities :

  • Provide personalized guidance to help diverse students select CTE programs and courses aligned with their goals, maximizing career success.
  • Oversee the admission process for assigned CTE programs.
  • Offer comprehensive advisement to CTE students through one-on-one meetings and in-class sessions.
  • Clearly communicate college processes and policies, guiding students through applications, enrollment, completion, and graduation.
  • Collaborate with CTE program faculty to resolve student issues and support program completion.
  • Regularly consult with program managers, faculty, and department chairs regarding admissions, student capacity, curriculum, and student success rates.
  • Support students with appeals processes, including reinstatements and academic adjustments.
  • Assist students with required documentation to streamline administrative procedures.

Canyon Building Administrative Assistant :

Responsibilities :

  • Maintain effective and positive public relations with the other departments on campus and with external entities.
  • Respond to inquiries, explain department services, policies, and procedures.
  • General clerical duties as requested. This may include preparing mass mailings, stuffing envelopes, paper filing, typing, copying, etc.
  • Provide data for reports, grants, and proposals as required.
  • Be the public facing presence to people and groups in the Canyon building including helping solve problems and provide logistics.
  • Various other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications :

Possess the following skills through experience, education, and / or training :

  • Associates' degree from an accredited institution in the relevant discipline or a closely related field is preferred
  • Interpersonal communication and public relations skills to meet people courteously and work and interact effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators, and others of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • A strong service orientation and desire to meet people’s needs, handle challenging situations and provide customer service and promote teamwork within the department, the College and community.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects concurrently with good judgment and professionalism in dealing with pressures and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivation to take assignments and carry them through from initiation to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability in business communications, including proper business English usage, composition, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Computer skills in all Microsoft software applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and additional general understanding of computer operating systems preferred and the ability to learn specialized system programs as necessary.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to attend and receive additional training to improve skills.
  • Ability to gain and apply knowledge of all departments on campus.
  • Ability to function as part of a team solving problems and meeting needs.
